Trust in God
—
‘…but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.’ Isaiah 40:31 (NIV) —
Trust, probably one of the most difficult things we try to do, we live in a world of distrust, we don’t want to, but when we see so many things going on that appear to be dishonest, or corrupt, or shall we say even ungodly, then we find it hard to trust. Now you might be different, there might be people in your life that you can trust or even that you do trust. This Scripture says trust in the Lord i.e. trust in Jesus, this again is hard if we don’t know Him. Knowing God for many is difficult, so knowing his son and then put our trust in him, becomes incredibly hard.
It says in Scripture “God created us, he formed us in our mother’s womb” and He claims to know everything about us, even our very thoughts. If you believe this as I do, then it becomes easier to put your trust in Him, and if we believe and know Jesus is the son of God, then trust in him becomes second nature. The Scripture goes on to say, we will receive new strength, this new strength comes from Him, it says in another Scripture “that nothing is too difficult for God.”
The Scripture goes on to say that we will soar on wings like eagles, this is a great picture of how secure we can feel, when someone else is helping us, and holding us. We are told that a problem shared is a problem halved, so when we give our problems back to God, and know that he will help us and strengthen us, then the last two lines make so much sense, “they will run and not get weary, they will walk and not faint.” I find these words so helpful, I trust you do to.
